Dial 988 for the new Mental Health Crisis Hotline
988 is the new alternative to 911 for people experiencing mental health emergencies, whether that is thoughts of suicide, mental health or substance use crisis, or other kind of emotional distress. People can call 988 if they are worried about a loved one who may need crisis support.
988 will make it simpler for people in crisis to tap into California's 13 National Suicide Prevention Lifeline call centers where compassionate, accessible care and support is available for anyone experiencing mental health-related distress. For more information, visit these websites:
